YouTube is available on many devices and uses responsive design to keep the channel pages consistent across them. A single image is used and cropped to fit for each device. This creates a “safe zone” in the middle where text and logos can be placed to appear on all devices.
To help visualize this “safe zone” and how the banner will appear on different platforms, we created a visual aid that can be added as a new layer in Pixlr X.
