WASHINGTON TWP. — Continuing Education at Warren County Community College is offering a variety of new activities as part of their 2011 Summer Youth Enrichment Program.
From June 27 to Aug. 25, more than 40 fun-filled programs for children ages 6 to 16 will be offered, ranging from creative arts, math, and science programs to sports camps. Each program, all of which are held during the day, runs for three or four days, giving students the opportunity to participate in a new activity each week throughout the summer.
The college is offering lots of new programs to an already burgeoning roster of offerings. New this year are "Fairy Princess Week," Amusement Park Science," "Create Your Own LEGO Video Game," "Junkyard Warriors," "Advanced Transforming Robots," "Field Hockey Clinic," "Printmaking for Kids," "Flag Football Clinic," "Space: Infinity and Beyond," Junior Physicians Academy," and "Survival: Predators and Prey."
Joining these new classes will be returning favorites such as "Make Your First Video Game," Web Site Design for Kids," "World Cup Soccer," "Writing and Publishing Your Own Book," "Basic Guitar" (Levels 1 through 3), "American Girl Adventures," "Improve Your Study Skills," and "Super Science Make It and Take It."
All programs are designed to provide a fun, challenging environment for children as an alternative to traditional camp. The programs combine learning with creative hands-on experiences.
Each program is offered at a cost of between $65 and $159, depending on the length and extent of the program.
Space in the Summer Youths Programs is limited. To register, or for a complete description of each program, contact Continuing Education at Warren County Community College, 908-689-7613, or visit warren.edu.
